In accordance with Mortgagee Letter (ML) 2020-05 and extended by Mortgagee Letter 2020-20, exceptions for two additional appraisal inspection scope of work options may be used for certain cases. The exterior-only appraisal and the desktop-only appraisal options are permitted when circumstances warrant. The FHA roster appraiser must complete all required appraisals in accordance with acceptable Appraisal Reporting Forms and Protocols. The re-extension of Appraisal Guidance is effective immediately for appraisal inspections completed on or before August 31, 2020.
