What sanctions can the Mortgagee Review Board impose upon an FHA-approved Mortgagee?

The Mortgagee Review Board (MRB) may impose the following actions and sanctions on an FHA-approved Mortgagee:

  • a letter of reprimand;
  • probation;
  • suspension;
  • withdrawal of FHA-approval; and 
  • civil money penalties.

The MRB may also enter into settlement agreements with non-complying Mortgagees.
