CREATED USERS
When creating a user, the EAD Lender Administrator assigns the user a permanent user ID and a temporary password that can be changed after the user logs in. A created user will receive an EAD portal system-generated email informing them that an account has been created. The email includes the permanent user ID and a hyperlink to the EAD portal login page.
The created user must click the link to log in with the user ID provided in the email, then enter the temporary password provided by the EAD Lender Administrator.
After logging in, the Password Expired page will appear and allow the created user to change the temporary password to a permanent password.
Note: Passwords cannot be the same as the user ID and must consist of at least eight characters, using letters, numbers and special characters. For more information see Password Strength Rule in Appendix E of the FHA EAD General User Guide.
When the password change is successful, the created user must log out and log back into the portal with the permanent user ID and the new password.
To finish the login process, the created user must:
- Read and accept the Terms and Conditions, and
- Select three Challenge Response Questions.
An invited user will receive an EAD portal system generated email inviting them to create an account in the EAD portal. The email contains a hyperlink to the EAD Self Registration page. To register, the invited user must complete all required entry fields including First and Last Name, Preferred User ID and Password, then click Create.
After successful completion of the Self Registration page, the invited user will receive an email asking to validate their email address and complete the registration. The email contains a hyper link to the EAD Login page where the invited user can login using their newly created user ID and password.
To finish the login process, the invited user must:
- Read and accept the Terms and Conditions, and
- Select three Challenge Response Questions.
