How do lenders transfer a case number to a new lender or sponsored originator?

Where a case number is being transferred to a new FHA-approved lender or sponsored third party originator (TPO), the original lender, its authorized agent, or sponsored TPO that is also an FHA-approved lender must complete the appropriate sections in FHA Connection (FHAC).

TRANSFER CASE TO SPONSORED ORIGINATOR

• click on the Sponsored Originator EIN selection from the drop down window if the loan origination company is acting in the capacity of a sponsored TPO

• enter the EIN in the entry field provided

TRANSFER CASE TO FHA-APPROVED LENDER

• click on the Originator ID selection from the drop down window, and then enter the FHA approved lender ID in the entry field.

• enter Date of Assignment Letter (date lender transfer occurred)
