How is the case number identified as an EEM in FHA Connection?

The appropriate data fields in FHA Connection must be completed to identify the case as an Energy Efficient Mortgage (EEM). There are three EEM designations in the FHA Connection Insurance Application screen as described below.

1. EEM Improvement Amount:
Dollar amount of energy efficient improvements that were factored into the mortgage.

2. New Construction/HERS Improvements: Newly constructed home for which energy efficient improvements were made per a Home Energy Rating Systems (HERS) report and were financed as part of the mortgage.

3. Existing Construction/HERS Improvements: Existing home for which energy efficient improvements were made per a Home Energy Rating Systems (HERS) report and were financed as part of the mortgage.
