Why does FHAC include a state prefix in my license number when ASC does not? Is this an exact match?

FHA Connection (FHAC) adds the state prefix to your license or certification number.

Although the license number in the Appraisal Subcommittee’s (ASC) National Registry may not contain the state prefix, this is still considered an "exact match" and will not affect automatic renewal of your license information.

However, if the non-state prefix portion of the number is not exact - including zeroes and spaces - you must correct the number by updating it in the ID MAINTENANCE section of FHAC.

Enter your information exactly as it appears in the National Registry, you do not need to enter the state prefix.
