How can I be reinstated on the FHA Appraiser Roster if my status has lapsed?

To be reinstated, you must be state-certified, and meet all current eligibility requirements. You may not reapply as a new applicant. The system will not accept a second application from appraisers that were previously on the roster.

If you are a lapsed Appraiser Roster member who was NOT sanctioned by the Homeownership Center (HOC), to be reinstated you must:

• Send an email to answers@hud.gov with "Request for Reinstatement" in the subject line and attach a PDF copy of your state certification; and

• In the body of the email include your full name, phone number, address, email address, license number and the reason you were removed from the roster (e.g., delayed renewal of certification )

FHA will generally process your request within 5 business days of receiving your email.

If you are a lapsed Appraiser Roster member who WAS sanctioned by the HOC, you must:

• Complete all education requirements assigned

• Apply to the HOC for review and final determination

• Send an email to answers@hud.gov with "Request for Reinstatement After Sanction" in the subject line and attach a PDF copy of your state certification; and

• In the body of the email, include your full name, phone number, address, email address, license number and the reason you were removed from the roster (type of sanction and the HOC that issued it.)
