When attempting to self-report a Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) in the Loan Review System (LRS), how can I resolve the error "Case Not Found"?

First, check to make sure you have entered the correct (valid) Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) case number in the Loan Review System (LRS).

If the HECM case number is valid, it may be archived in FHA Connection (FHAC) and must be restored before the case can be self-reported in the LRS.  A case is archived in FHAC thirteen months after endorsement.

You can restore the HECM case using the FHAC Case Query screen.  Enter the case number and click Send.  The Error(s) Detected field states the case is archived and asks, “Would you like to restore this case?”  Click Yes and the Case Restore page will appear confirming the request has been successfully processed.  After restoring the case, the Mortgagee must wait 2-3 business days for the restoration to take effect before creating a self-report in the LRS.
